"The food was soooo delicious!!! I ordered the arepa and empanada. Everything was so fresh: with every bite it tasted like they just chopped and spiced the filling and the arepa was so crunchy and good-smelling freshly baked. Oh and the people were also super friendly. I loved all of it."

"Delicious Colombian arepas and empanadas, both gluten free! We got the llanera arepa and the medellin arepa as well as a vegetable and beef empanada. Food was really delicious. The inside is pretty small, just a handful of tables but even despite that there was a constant stream of people in and out. Staff was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend."

"Another day, another lunch place. I admit that some restaurants end up on my list because I can practice my Spanish there but I usually do not regret it. While I prefer the Argentinian style empanadas, I really enjoyed the chicken arepa I had - the Arepa Llanera."

"Located inside another business (Brotquelle) this hidden gem is amazing for all empanadas lovers or gluten free food seekers. Mecato offers a range of Columbian products, from speciality coffee to Bunuelos. Empanads are usually available after 9, while the Arepas after 11. Last order is usually around 19:30. Can only recommend them."

"Mecato Berlin has tasty, authentic and freshly made food with vegan and vegetarian options. The staff is friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend making a reservation beforehand since it fills up pretty fast in the morning but you can also take your food to go. You can also pay with a card."
